Adopting from Erin Hounds
You may have heard about a particular hound in our care at anyone time and think that hound just fits the space you have on your sofa! In the early stages, we will have a general chat about what you are looking for in your perfect hound. As we only have one or two hounds in the UK at anyone time, we will focus totally on those dogs to find the right spot for them to start their new 'forever' life, so if after an initial chat, it would seem that the dog we are focusing on might be suitable, then we will arrange for you to meet the dog and for us to call and do a home visit. Once everyone is happy, we will move on to the homing. After the homing, we will do occasional follow up telephone calls and a follow up home visit, just to offer our support and to help with any settling in issues.
If the hound you enquire about is not the right choice for your life, we may have a dog suitable in Ireland waiting for a kennel space in the UK or we can put you in contact with a reputable Greyhound and Lurcher homing programme in your area.
All Erin Hounds will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and to the best of our knowledge, fit and healthy. If, on the very rare occasion that a hound is homed unneutered due to age or health issues, the dog will be neutered at the earliest availability at Erin's expense and at a vet of their choosing. This is non-negotiable. There is a homing donation required.
